Intensive Hip Hop Company
Intensive Hip Hop
Our intensive training program offers an in-depth exploration of Hip Hop foundations, emphasizing the bounce, groove, and rock that are at the heart of the style. Before learning choreography, dancers develop a strong understanding of weight shifts, rhythm, musicality, body awareness, and movement quality. Through focused foundational training, dancers learn how to connect authentically to the music while building confidence, coordination, and personal expression.
We recognize Hip Hop as a unique and specialized discipline, and as such, there are no additional genre requirements, provided dancers are successfully meeting the technical expectations of their level. This allows dancers to fully immerse themselves in the culture, artistry, and foundations of Hip Hop while developing the skills needed to excel in both choreography and freestyle movement.
More than just the steps
Hip Hop is more than a collection of steps—it’s a culture rooted in creativity, individuality, and self-expression. Originating from the Hip Hop culture that emerged in the Bronx during the 1970s, the style encourages dancers to develop their own voice while building confidence, musicality, and performance skills.
Through foundation training, dancers learn how to listen to and interpret music, understand rhythm, develop coordination, and build the versatility needed to excel in choreography, freestyle, and performance. A strong foundation allows dancers to move with greater confidence, control, and authenticity while continuing to grow within the many styles and influences that make up Hip Hop dance today.
